FRISCO - Frisco Centennial tailback Anthony Pegues rushed for 254 yards and three touchdownw to lead the way in a 54-33 shootout victory over Frisco Heritage in District 9-5A play at Toyota Stadium on Thursday night. Centennial (1-0 in 9-5A, 2-1 overall) never trailed in the contest, scoring touchdowns 13 seconds apart in the opening quarter, including a 35-yard fumble return by Sullivan MacLean on defense. Overall, Centennial finished with 455 yards in offense, with quarterback Court Walker throwing for a pair of scores, while Hunter Williams, Danny Mustace and Kenny Nelson also scored. Heritage (0-2 in 9-5A, 2-2 overall) got no closer than 14 points of the lead in the second half, despite 353 total yards and four touchdowns from quarterback Amare Jones. Also playing well in the loss for Heritage was tailback Kene Nwangwu with 191 yards rushing and receiver Bubba Ogbebor with 10 catches for 169 yards and two scores.
